Learn to argue

Denise says that although arguing can ruin a relationship, knowing how to cope with arguments will ultimately save one.

"This is probably the most important and useful thing a couple can learn to do properly," she says.

"Good arguing clears the air and allows you both to be heard and understood.  It allows your differences to be respected and valued - what keeps a relationship exciting and fresh." she continues.

Most, if not all, couples will argue but recognizing this as a way to let off steam and recover afterwards will make the difference.

Give your partner space and time to cool down, learn to let things go and recognize that arguments aren't the be all and end all of your relationship.
