If after everything you've fallen out of love it's better to accept it and move on rather than stringing it out.

Don't be hard on yourself but also don't give yourself room to waver, be strong and stick to your guns and ultimately your partner will thank you for it. 

Although there will always be other factors in your life to think about, maybe children, if you've tried everything possible to make a relationship work and it simply doesn't anymore, the best thing for everyone is to try to amicably move forward.
