My mistake

My mistake

"What did I ever see in him?" It can start to run round in your head and get right on your nerves: just how did you ever go out with that no-brained smoothie?! You might have thought he was the love of your life when really you were projecting your own fantasies onto the relationship when it wasn't really a reciprocal thing. You need to admit you made a mistake in order to accept it's over and move on.

Questions to ask yourself
Were we really right for each other?
Did I misread the signs?
Was I really in love with him as a person?

What you can take from it
Breaking up was obviously the right thing to do, and you can learn from it: learn to listen to your desires more and listen to what he says. This will help your patience and stop you from rushing headlong and blindfold into a relationship that's just not right for you.
