The early days
Beatrix Ong is the eldest of three sisters born to Beng Hong Ong, a surgeon and Maureen Tan, a GP.
Her family moved from London to the US when she was just a baby. Later Ong’s family moved to Hong Kong where she remained until at 16-years-old she was sent to the Roedean School in Brighton.
The imposing school sits on top of the cliffs over looking the sea and is one the UK’s most expensive girl’s boarding schools – as well as Beatrix, famous alumni include golden-globe nominated actress Rebecca Hall, Honeysuckle & Perdita Weeks and Katharine Elizabeth Whitehorn.
While Beatrix’s sisters followed their parents' footsteps into medicine, Beatrix took her own path into the world of fashion and footwear.
Beatrix continued to study after graduation from Roedean. She took courses at the prestigious Central St. Martins College of Art & Design, the London College of Communication, the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and the renowned Cordwainers College in London.
